CCTV Installation Project
Or you've got the budget to hire for a CCTV (closed-circuit television) installation service, but there are no companies in your area, on location, that offers CCTV installation services? No worries, this article will guide you with your CCTV camera installation dilemma. It is important that the person who will install the security camera has knowledge regarding electrical wiring and practices. A reminder, always abide to National electrical safety codes and always pay attention to safety practices and always keep in mind, safety first.
First thing to consider before CCTV installation is the location and the distance your camera and monitoring equipments should be. It is important to place your cameras in well lit areas for good camera views, and images, do not mount cameras in locations pointing in direct exposure to sunlight. Do not hide cameras in dark areas or no lit location of the room. However, for dark rooms there are infrared cameras well-suited for this condition. Homeowners can opt to purchase variable focus lens to regulate focal length lens which will permit movement of the focal length within specified distance. Other components you need are DVR, LCD monitor, and power supply box. Often, homeowners prefer to run their CCTV systems cables on their attics, which is advisable for easy drilling of exterior wall purposes.
Instruction:
Pull out 2-3 ft power and coax cables, use an electric tape to fasten both cables, fasten around 5-7 inches, and mark the set of cables of each camera to avoid confusion in the future, when you're doing some maintenance on your Security Cameras. On the location of your first CCTV installation, drill a hole. The hole must be sufficient for cables to go through it, after that go back, get and cut another 2-3 ft cables, also mark or label the cables, make sure you can make it to DVR and power supply with the available length, continue the same process to the other remaining set of wires.
On each camera position, mount your enclosures to the exterior wall fittingly, but leave enough space for left-right, upward-downward tilt. Insert the cables on apt holes in the rear of the enclosure, proceed mounting the remaining enclosures. Take the camera off its box and prep your CCTV cameras and mount it one by one on the enclosures, use proper screws to lock it, and add cables. Place your DVR in its position; add BNC (Bayonet Neill Concelman) connectors to all coax wires. Join together the power wires and insert it to the power supply (not plugged in). Focus and connect the mounted cameras. Set up the software installation to configure the monitor to pick-up camera signal. And voila, you're done!
